Llullun Llaki Supai by Pablo Amaringo
This picture represents the sublime mystery inherent in the plant kingdom which produces the food and oxygen that animals and humans depend on. The anacondas in the water warn us of the dangerous degradation of our rivers, lakes and forests and of destroying what is for our benefit. When the spirits walk there they do not trample and crush the vegetation, they walk lightly and we should learn how to do the same.
At the top of the painting are the huge eyes of the Sachamama - the Mother of the forest, while on the left the bufeos have aligned themselves to look like a plant illustrating their reciprocity with aquatic plants.
